Local people are being asked for their views on the plans for the first new homes on Watford Health Campus, which will be built to the south of Willow Lane.

The delivery of the new homes marks an important milestone for the Health Campus partnership, which has always put building an attractive and thriving place to live at the heart of the regeneration scheme.

In addition to a planning application for the new homes in spring 2017, the first business zone, Trade City, Watford, which will create 180 local jobs will open later in the year. At the same time the Partnership is currently on-site cleaning up the contaminated and unused land in preparation for further development. Further phases of new homes will follow in the area known as the Riverside. The Partnership will be rejuvenating this stretch of River Colne as part of plans for around 700 homes.

Mayor of Watford, Baroness Dorothy Thornhill MBE commented: “These are much needed new homes for Watford and I am particularly pleased that there will be around 34% affordable homes on offer as part of the Willow Lane development. Because the council took the decision to remain an active partner in the Health Campus, we have been able to influence the scheme and particularly the new homes to ensure they are of the standard and quality we know people want when choosing a place to live.

We are always keen to hear from our local community and would encourage people to share their views on the initial plans”.
